Episode 04 - Tessa Grubbs

Where to begin. I wasn’t sure I wanted to do an episode with Mougins. They basically cheated the system and stayed in the first league when they clearly should have been relegated. When covid ended everything last year, the standings were frozen, and that was how the league decided who should come up (Istres) and who should go down (Mougins). But somehow they convinced the league to let them stay, and now there are 15 teams in the league, which means one more home and away game. Geez its going to be a long season. But then again, there wont be any playoffs, so I guess thats helpful.

Anyway, I’m so glad I did a video with Tessa and the team. Tessa had some crazy stories about her second life as a mental health worker for disturbed kids. And the girls from the team were really awesome about me totally crashing their workout. I promised i would be a fly on the wall but instead got into a heated convo about YouTube and vlogs and streaming with one of the players. I cant help it. I love this video making stuff.

And turns out their strength coach is an Olympian so we bonded over that. Then at training the next morning the president and coach welcomed me into the office with a coffee and a chit chat about life. It was lovely. They were all lovely. And I feel guilty about having thought mean thoughts about the whole staying in the first league business.

So never judge a book by its cover, or whatever. Oh, and learn the subtle art of not giving a f*ck. K bye.
